These are pictures from my first ever attempt at using a holga camera.

My roommate Shlee just ordered a diana camera which has inspired me to take out my dusty old holga and go on some photo adventures ( with a tripod this time! ).

before the death of polaroid

Tracy and I decided for our very first collabz that we wanted to work with the idea of polaroid transfers on ceramic pieces. We decided to photograph people eating random objects and place them on fancy dinnerware.

We set it up as a classy dinner scene for two and had an impromptu/improvised fight. Unfortunately we do not have the hilarious video where we threw plates and bowls at each other but there are some photo stills.

Definitely one of our more successful collabz!

performance based art

My collabz partner, Tracy Koronik, and I decided that last fall would be the semester of performance pieces.

We came up with this "brilliant" idea that we would fill water balloons with slip (watered down clay) and have our classmates throw them at us while standing behind a white sheet. In theory this interactive/performance idea was really cool, in reality it really hurt.

The sheet.

This was about the distance our classmates were.

Some balloon fragments stuck to the sheet.

It was about 20 degrees out when we did this so the slip started to freeze.

The white Tyvex suits we both wore.

There is a video that goes along with this. I haven't decided if I want to post it or not because it was quite painful!

voyuer eye

I'm really interested in the act of voyeurism. I don't have a particular reason, nor do I openly practice it but the topic itself intrigues me.

For a while alot of my work had a voyeuristic approach. In this piece I brought my camera around and recorded people in the dark. I was interested in the lack of identity between the people and the acts that were taking place. In the final piece it is very hard to distinguish people, which is something I will have to work on, but overall I think some of the stills with the video projection are kind of beautiful.

The eyes in their wet stage. Yes, that is mold growing on them.

Fired, painted, and on the wall.
