i got this idea today which involved crumbling/wrinkling my pictures in order to distort my body image even more. this is just an example of the road i may be taking this semester.
correct me if i am wrong, but these are photographs of photographs of a moment... i love this... the layers... and degrees of separation from the physical moment... allowing the viewer to be further detached for the captured moment... i think this process conceptually work great for the idea of isolation... i am curious how you can use other/more means to facilitate in an even further removed/detached/isolated image of yourself you are presenting to the viewer?
LOVE LOVE LOVE your work!!!! =) so excited for you! and to see more!!!! go at it!!!!
Point taken... There has to be something though.... maybe you could try scanning it through a couple things... Maybe a dryer sheet or like, one "ply" of a paper towel so that most of the image could still appear. I'm writing out of my ass, but just trying to come up with SOME things, you know?
showed them to the other photo mfa's today. defs a good response from them and they like where i am going with this. hopefully my profs feel the same way!
when you learn to properly frame an image in the viewfinder of a camera, you start to frame and catalog everything you see, whether you photograph it or not. and suddenly, memory has the shape of a rectangle.

Oooh, you should see if you could filter them somehow, like how in Nancy's class we printed them through different things to alter the image as well!!
i just don't know how to filter a digital image without the use of photoshop, ya know?
